Since we started to produce elevators in the 1920s, we have accumulated more than 90 years of history in the building systems business. We remain committed to providing safe, secure and comfortable elevators and escalators as well as services that help resolve customers’ various issues in urban spaces globally.
At
present, the world is facing the emergence of new social issues reflecting
various changes, including urbanization, the aging of society, and climate change.
Amid these changes, initiatives to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs) adopted by the United Nations in 2015 have begun to be taken all over
the world. Following our corporate
philosophy which states, “We will contribute to a sustainable society through
providing new value for people, building systems, and society,” we are taking
ongoing actions primarily on the following of the 17 SDGs:
7.
Affordable and Clean Energy;
8.
Decent Work and Economic Growth, and;
11.
Sustainable Cities and Communities.
For
example, in Japan, we have been providing remote monitoring services for
elevators, escalators, and various other building equipment for 30 years. We
analyze the equipment operation data to detect signs of approaching failures
and repair them before they happen. Our strength is that we have
cutting-edge technologies within the
Hitachi Group. Moving forward, we will leverage this strength to pursue
advanced products and services and the global expansion of our businesses.
We
will continue creating new social, environmental, and economic value in a
society where people live to contribute to the realization of a sustainable
society.
